Can Digital Health Tools make healthcare better? Have a say!

Digital health tools

Thank you to people who participated in the Digital Health Tools survey. You told us you find digital health tools convenient, make your care more efficient and help with having all health records in one place. You told us digital health tools can be difficult for some people to use, particularly for older people, and that forcing people to use a tool means some people could get left out.

One third of people have used Active Script list and found it very useful. 2 in 3 people have used MyHealthRecord with mixed feedback - some find it very useful and others not useful at all. Half of you have used ACT Health’s Digital Health Record and found it useful, some people haven’t received care at ACT Health facilities so haven't used the record yet.

When asked about Artificial Intelligence (AI), there was positive feedback about medical ‘scribes’ that take notes so healthcare professionals can focus more on the person in front of them, but 1 in 4 survey participants have concerns about AI. Most people want their doctor or healthcare professional to tell them they are using an AI product, half would like to receive information about the AI product, half would like to be given a choice about the use of an AI product and a quarter would like to know about the security and privacy of their records.
